The National Assembly originated from the people's craving for a government body to make and amend laws. The National Assembly is important because it is the sole source of laws that govern the everyday activities all over France. The key people are louis XVI, the peasants (Third Estate) Because of the national assembly, the
Declaration of the Rights of Man and the Citizen was issued and the Constitution of 1791 was created. These were done because the peasants felt that they were not being treate fairly and wanted all citizens to have equal rights.
