MARIE ANTOINETTE AND KING LOUIS XVI'S FAILED ESCAPE
Bad ruling of Marie-Antoinette & Louis caused the French to revolt and barged in the Palace of Versailles and imprisoned the royal family. King Louis didn't see the French revolution coming but when he realized it was coming, he maintained different personal and political goals. At first, his goal was to stop the revolution but he failed because he didn't pay attention on how to rule a country earlier. He didn't know what to do against the revolt. When he realized that this revolt was his fault and that people were coming to kill him, his goal changed. All he wanted was to stay alive. They tried to escape so his whole family went to Austria so that they would be safe from the attacks of the French. Little did they know, a postmaster from a little village recognized their faces from the coins and drawings and reported them immediately. Louis the XVI were under house arrest and were treated like how any other prisoner was treated. The family's failed escape brought King Louis the XVI to be in an even more dangerous position than before.
They were guillotined and killed on January 21, 1793.
